Dog Walker & Assistant Dog Trainer

We are looking for someone to start off casual and grow with our business into a full-time role. We would love someone who is dedicated and passionate about working with dogs. This role is varied, and you will have hands in many aspects of the business; therefore, previous dog experience isn't crucial for the right person, but is definitely preferred. Having computer skills and a creative brain is also a plus. All training will be provided over a 3-month period. We currently cover Cromwell, Clyde, Alexandra, and occasionally Wanaka and Queenstown. We hope with the help of a new trainer, we will be able to expand into new areas. THE JOB Pick up and drop off dogs Walk dogs mostly off leash in packs of up to 8 for a training, socialisation and enrichment focused experience Provide in pack training with all dogs and communicate progress with team Keep dogs safe and in good health in the transport and on adventures Provide all-around excellent client service (human and dog) Record video footage of each dog pack adventure walk Take initiative in our expansion into the Wanaka area: Building a client base, creating new packs, keeping customers updated on how their dog is doing, finding safe places to take packs, etc. Assist in dog training sessions Assist in curation of packs Abide by and stay up to date with boundaries and safety training Provide open communication with team about concerns, improvements, ideas or things that need to be worked on Assist in admin (invoicing, scheduling, social media posting, video editing, podcast editing, Facebook group engagement, website and SEO engagement, client engagement and relationship building, etc.) Assist in creating video content for training projects REQUIREMENTS A love and dedication to dogs and their owners Experience and/or study in dog training and behaviour NZ driver's license and confidence driving a large vehicle Ability to learn quickly and listen to detailed instructions Focus on safety Confident, patient, and physically able Computer admin skills and creativity for marketing assistance is a huge plus PET First Aid course will be required training for any new member of the team Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week Schedule: Monday to Friday No weekends Application Question(s): Are you willing to start at 8 - 10 hours a week and make your way up to full-time as a contractor?
