About the Role
Based in the Community Nursing Service, at Wakari Hospital, the role of Oncology/Haematology District Nurse is both busy and challenging but also extremely rewarding. The position involves providing community nursing care and support for medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology patients receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Some of the key nursing tasks are: comprehensive patient assessment; symptom control and management; patient education; psychosocial assessment and support.
This role is also key to the future development of the service, building links within both primary and secondary care and staff education and support.

About you
We're looking for a registered nurse with 3 years or greater post grad experience. You will also have:

A current New Zealand Registration and APC.
A professional portfolio in progress.
Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly develop a rapport with patients and their whanau/family.
Full, clean drivers license.
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO Collective Agreement CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the Registered Nurse Pay Scale, between Step 6 $106,739 and Step 7 $106,739 p.a. dependant on relevant experience.
