Te Wero - The Challenge We are seeking a talented District Facilities Design Officer to contribute to our Long-Term Plan District Facilities projects.
In this role, you will ensure that all designs comply with relevant standards, guidelines, plans, and acts.
You will also collaborate closely with communities and boards to achieve project goals.
The ideal candidate should possess: Tertiary qualification in Architecture, Project Management, Design, or a related field.
Proven experience in design, infrastructure, or construction industries.
Strong skills in documentation, report writing, and workflow processes.
Knowledge of New Zealand engineering standards, design codes, and practices.
Understanding of or willingness to learn about Te Ao Maori, tikanga, Te Reo Maori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the public and internal staff.
Clear communication skills to simplify complex problems.
Demonstrated project management skills, including managing multiple projects within set timeframes.
Commitment to excellence in customer service.
High-level relationship management and customer facilitation skills, with the ability to build strategic relationships at various levels.
Dedication to achieving the best outcomes for the community.
Progressive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

The salary for this position is Grade 17 within Council's salary structure, plus Kiwi Saver.
