Distribution Team Leader

About the role: As the Distribution Team Leader at our Mt Maunganui Depot, you will manage the day-to-day administrative and compliance tasks to ensure smooth site operations that meet the regional demand for LPG cylinders.
This is a hands-on role, with responsibilities extending to delivery activities.
Your top priority will be ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of LPG cylinders to homes and businesses throughout the region.
You'll organise daily delivery routes, maintain high service standards and foster strong customer relationships.
Key responsibilities: Manage individual and team performance, considering seasonal fluctuations and staffing needs.
Review distribution efficiencies regularly and optimise delivery schedules.
Maintain plant, equipment and fleet compliance.
Conduct vehicle safety checks and organise delivery runs.
Load products onto trucks.
Fill LPG cylinders, deliver pre-filled units and collect empties.
About you: You hold a clean and current Class 2 licence and have solid delivery driving history.
We are looking for someone with: Experience in a supervisory role Strong knowledge of Health, Safety and Compliance in the gas industry, with experience training others.
Proven ability to self-manage and oversee others, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy items.
A Dangerous Goods licence and LPG filling experience (or a willingness to train) A flexible, adaptable approach with a focus on customer service.
Strong administrative and customer service skills, including computer literacy, documentation, scheduling and planning experience.
A positive, team-oriented attitude with the flexibility to meet operations demands.
Ability to pass pre-employment checks, including criminal and ACC history, medial assessments and drug & alcohol screening.
What's on offer: This is a permanent, full-time role, Monday to Friday, typically from 6:30am to 4:00pm, with occasional overtime during peak periods and some Saturday work.
