Sport New Zealand Ihi Aotearoa has a vision to get Every Body Active, and we're looking for a Disability Lead to join our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team to help us work towards this vision.The Disability Lead will influence and oversee the implementation of initiatives in Sport NZ's 2024-28 Strategy. This is an exciting role for someone, to champion improved outcomes for disabled tamariki and rangatahi.Reporting to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager you will work collaboratively with internal teams, sector organisations and relevant government agencies to improve opportunities for disabled tamariki and rangatahi and address the inequities they experience in play, active recreation, and sport.By using data and insights and sharing best practice, you will help influence the direction of Sport NZ's existing and future work so that it has the greatest impact.The successful candidate will have proven experience in similar leadership roles and in leading and influencing change to improve outcomes for disabled people. A deep understanding of how play, active recreation and sport can be used as a vehicle for improving the wellbeing of disabled tamariki and rangatahi is critical for this role.As a crown agency, Sport New Zealand is proud to be the guardian of our country's play, active recreation and sporting system, from grassroots to elite sport, and through this to contribute to the wellbeing of New Zealanders through physical activity.
