The South Auckland Social Wellbeing Board (SASWB) is a Place Based Initiative (PBI), established in 2016, comprising of 13 government agencies working in partnership with Mana Whenua, seeking to improve life course outcomes of children and their families in South Auckland. Te Whatu Ora is the host agency for the SASWB.Our vision, created in partnership with the SASWB agencies and Mana Whenua describes the future that we desire for our tamariki mokopuna in South Auckland:The SASWB works to ensure that all children in South Auckland are healthy, learning, nurtured, connected to their communities and culture, and building a positive foundation for the future.Te whiwhinga mahi| The OpportunityIn this role, your primary purpose is to provide strong leadership, direction and effective implementation of a multi-agency intersectoral work programme. The role also has responsibility for leading the Implementation Office which provides support functions for the SASWB Board as well as convening and facilitating cross-sector engagement to achieve collective impact across the SASWB work programme.Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand is the host agency for the SASWB Implementation Office, and the SASWB's Director role operates as a senior member of the Population Health Directorate.On a day-to-day basis, you will be directly managing the SASWB Implementation Office Leadership Team, while providing strategic support, advice and recommendations to the Board and being accountable for the various functions of the SASWB Implementation Office.This role will see you working and collaborating with various stakeholders and audiences across different agencies and the South Auckland community to ensure that iwi, hapu, whanau, and Maori communities and organisations are active partners across our teams and portfolios, and that their voices are heard and reflected in strategic decisions and implementation of system change opportunities.You will have a genuine love for South Auckland, it's people and communities – this is essential to your success in this role.You will be an experienced people leader who has strong collaboration, relationship building and communication skills, and is keen to apply these skills and your knowledge to ensure that local learning is influencing local, regional and national level systems change and better outcomes for whanau.Proven track record of leadership experience in cross-sector collaboration and strong relationship building skills.Proven ability to translate Te Tiriti o Waitangi into organisational strategies, operations, and practice.Proven ability to translate equity into organisational strategies, operations, and practice.Proven ability to provide strong people leadership.Demonstrated success in developing strategic partnerships and positive working relationships with government and non-government organisations, Mana Whenua and community stakeholders to drive change.Political acumen in working through complex organisational and political situations effectively.Practical experience in cultivating a culture centred on innovation, performance, accountability, and transparency focused on improving wellbeing outcomes for children and their whaanau/families.Proven track record in successfully delivering on multi stakeholder change programmes.A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
