Guide the vision and research agenda to establish the Kaika Climate Resilience Research Institute at Lincoln University.
Mo te tuka The role Reporting into the office of the Provost, this position is one of leadership where the you will guide the vision and research agenda to establish Kaika Climate Resilience Research Institute.
The role will provide broad academic leadership and mentoring within the Institute as well as develop collegial relationships across the university to serve kaika / kainga.
As a Professor who has demonstrated expertise within their own field or discipline, you will champion research programmes, teams and outcomes and foster collegiality, whanaungatanga, kotahitanga and manaakitanga both with internal and external partners.
The Kaika Climate Resilience Research Institute will oversee transformational research that helps kainga secure their futures in a changing climate.
Impactful research with kainga is essential if kainga are to be leaders in front-footing the challenges they face.
This is a new, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus.
The salary range is to be negotiated around $200,000 per annum.
Ka tino Pukeka / Wheako Essential skills / experience for the role To be successful in this role you will need : A completed PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the seniority of the role.
Demonstrated successful leadership of a research group, centre, institute, or programme.
Demonstrated leadership of activities of interest to Maori, including examples of co-governance engagement.
Demonstrated ability to secure significant and sustained external research funding.
Demonstrated record of attracting and successfully supervising students at Masters and PhD levels.
Demonstrated significant and high-quality record of scholarly research including publication in leading journals and / or with leading academically reputable presses (or where appropriate, extensive relevant industry / professional experience).
Demonstrated evidence of a strong contribution to the achievement of the strategic goals of an organisation.
Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to work with, mentor and lead colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds.
