An opportunity to coach Waterpolo at Sacred Heart College is available from Sept 2024. As Director of Water polo/Head Coach of the Premier A1 team, you will play a significant part in our water polo programme. As a successful coach with experience preferably at Secondary level, you will join our dedicated sports team led by the Director of Sport.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Coaching the Premier A1 Team and overseeing the Senior A2, Junior A Team, Year 7 & 8 AIMs teams.
Running the College Institute program (years 7-10) including the trials and the program itself.
Assisting with fundraising initiatives and helping organize tours/junior and senior tournaments.
Developing strong team values and culture.
Liaising with local clubs and establishing close links within the community.
Conducting individual player assessments and reports.
Overseeing the Performance Aquatics swim program.
Team selection.
Key attributes:
Qualified coach with the ability to understand and coach Water polo at a high level; Secondary school experience ideal.
Leadership qualities to motivate, inspire, and empower players.
Ability to understand and connect with the students.
Self-driven.
Strong communication skills – both written & verbal with the capability to communicate clearly with the athletes and parents.
This is a contract to service position, covering 15-25 hours per week. This includes presence at games/tournaments on the weekends and coaching after school.
