As someone with a solid understanding of public sector finance and at least ten years managing a financial function we need you to join our team as the Director - Corporate Services. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive and efficient policy regime with regards to investments, borrowings, revenue and financing, significance, financial strategy, records management and information technology. You will support and advise council and the Chief Executive on strategic and financial matters and lead the organisation through the preparation of the Long Term Plan, Annual Plan and Annual Report. You will report monthly to council on operational and capital expenditure, revenue and work actively with managers to clearly explain variances as well as leading the implementation and management of corporate services policies. Being our first port of call for the Audit and Risk Committee Chair will see you managing the audit processes as well as our corporate risks by ensuring the register is up to date and accurately reflects the current environment and mitigations are correct and implemented when required. This position is full time (40 hours per week) and will be located at the Stratford District Council, Miranda Street, Stratford. The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $185,000 per annum with the appointed starting level dependent on the skills and experience of the candidate. About You As a chartered accountant with a tertiary qualification in commerce or business management you will have proven financial management skills. You are a strong leader who thrives on the success of their team as a whole. Experience in the development of policies, strategies and council planning documents is desired. An understanding of local government and our statutory reporting requirements would be an advantage.
