The Corporate Services Directorate is responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, driving innovation, and supporting strategic decision-making to enable Pharmac to deliver on its strategic priorities. The Directorate comprises the finance, legal, IT, HR, analysis, information and knowledge management, and business services functions.

Pharmac has several strategic decisions to be made that have implications for our Corporate Services workforce. This includes the decision on who will deliver Medical Devices, and what our data and digital and people and capability strategies will be going forward. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this fixed term role will lead a programme of work to assess the Corporate Services' longer-term resource and workforce requirements to reflect these key strategic decisions.
In addition you will:
Lead the development and implementation of the organisational strategies to ensure Pharmac decisions contribute to its strategic outcomes.
Develop and maintain cross-agency relationships to support the achievement of key outcomes including engagement with Health New Zealand, the wider health sector and other key stakeholders across the public sector.
Hold accountability for Pharmac's financial, ICT, people and capability and other corporate services functions, and the effective leadership of these teams.
Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to organisational leadership, performance and success.

This is a key strategic, senior people leader role and would be suited to someone with experience building trust and credibility internally during a time of change. Given the breadth of the role, you will be a well-rounded and considered leader, someone that can demonstrate a high level of strategic foresight, complex problem-solving skills, creativity and innovation.
To be successful in this role, you will need to bring with you:
Proven success in leading others and managing cross-agency change, through the development and implementation of strategy.
Demonstrated successful functional leadership at a senior level.
Proven experience in successfully managing corporate services functions, with expertise in leading finance, ICT and/or people and capability functions as a distinct advantage.
Strong engagement and communication capability with proven success in building productive and trusting relationships with cross-agency partners.
Demonstrated proficiency in risk identification, mitigation and management with a focus on financial, operational and compliance risks.
Politically aware and comfortable working within the political context.
A strong commercial focus.
Other desirable, but not essential capabilities include an understanding of the health sector, the Pae Ora Act and the context in which Pharmac operates.
