Description This role is an amazing opportunity for an asset remarketing or valuation professional to join a high performing team in our Commercial & Industrial (C&I) division to drive our business growth in New Zealand market. The Director role is based in our New Zealand office located in Auckland. The person in this role will help drive the development of our business in the country. They will work collaboratively with the C&I teams and other teams in APAC, as well as with our business segment heads. Gordon Brothers C&I business provides clients with customised commercial and industrial asset remarketing solutions and valuations services, and can also acquire assets to unlock liquidity for these clients. For more than a century we have applied our deep asset knowledge to assist companies in putting their assets to the highest and best use and have innovated, elevated and honed strategies to identify and extract best value from underperforming, surplus or non-core assets through hands on management and up-front capital. Our asset knowledge is central to everything we do for our clients. This role will be responsible for managing the execution of asset sale deals, disposition projects and valuations primarily in construction, dairy, forestry, transport and manufacturing industries. They will also support the business development initiatives with the Restructuring & Turnaround market, Financial Institutions and Corporates, bringing Gordon Brothers' full suite of products (Valuations, Asset Remarketing, Asset acquisitions, and Asset Backed Financing & Investments) to assist clients. The successful individual will work all aspects of deals from origination to execution and portfolio management. Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions Asset Remarketing and Asset Acquisitions Project Management Responsibility for the successful delivery of asset trading and disposition projects that are assigned to you, including end to end carriage of planning, and implementing marketing campaigns, onsite and contractor management, buyer negotiations and concluding transactions and agreements, client relationship management and financial management of the projects. Perform machinery and equipment analysis and valuations on equity deals for the division that may also include machinery and equipment as part of a multi-asset transaction. Valuations & Asset Inspections Responsibility for the successful delivery of valuation projects that are assigned to you, including end to end carriage of the following valuation related items: Asset inspections (inc site audits); Valuation analysis (inc due diligence, analysis, and data collection); Research (Value-added insight into comparable companies, transactions, industry trends and market conditions); Report delivery (Write and prepare commercially focused and insightful valuation reports) Client management (Liaise with our clients regarding business performance, inventory profile, asset conditions, asset depreciation modelling and marketability amongst other key valuation drivers). Business Development Initiatives Working with our Deals & Origination team to develop, structure and implement a marketing strategy to drive growth in the country. Support deal flow by developing and strengthening relationships with individuals in the restructuring, turnaround, insolvency, lending, private equity, investment banking, brokering communities, as well as related professionals (e.g., lawyers, accountants, consultants, etc.). Develop relationships with the New Zealand Corporate market and support our Corporate Deals & Origination team in identifying opportunities and promoting Gordon Brothers brand in the Corporate market. Attend Restructuring and Turnaround events to promote Gordon Brothers (may include speaking duties). Source, structure, analyse and document opportunities as well as manage the resulting portfolio through the product lifecycle. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong drive for results, bias for action with superior analytical and time management skills. Collaborative team-player & self-motivated. Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and across multiple organisational layers and departments. Education & Experience RICS, ASA or similar valuation body accreditation and membership beneficial. Ten or more years of machinery and equipment and/or valuation work focused on commercial and industrial equipment. Proven track record of developing a network of corporate and institutional professionals in New Zealand. Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed expectations and help others drive results.
