This director role is an exciting opportunity to provide leadership and guidance to respond to what matters most to Tamaki Makaurau in transport – customer service.This includes moving people and goods more efficiently, reducing travel time on all modes of transport, convenience, safety, accessibility, choice, response to climate change and environmental outcomes.As a Board member, you will be accountable and responsible to both Auckland Council and the people of Auckland. Acting with the utmost personal integrity, you will demonstrate a public service ethos and moral leadership with wise and thorough decision-making to improve customer service.To be successful in this role you will have a background improving customer outcomes, alongside transport sector experience and delivering on shareholder expectations. You will also have financial expertise, suitable to lead the board's finance and audit functions, with governance experience in large and complex organisations.We will be looking for:Success within transport related industriesA track record of strong governance of large, complex organisationsProven ability to drive great customer experiences within the transport sectorUnderstanding of transport finance and fundingExperience within the information technology sector or related fields will be useful.An understanding of Te Ao Maori with an ability to form strong relationships with iwi and knowledge of Tikanga Maori is also sought.As a Board member, you will be accountable and responsible to both Auckland Council and the people of Auckland.
