The opportunity - Te turangaWe are looking for three Digital Video Producers. In these roles, you will be responsible for producing news video for TVNZ+, by spotting video news content that will work well for a digital audience and editing and publishing it in a way that attracts audiences while maintaining high editorial standards.
Core ResponsibilitiesUse editorial acumen to select or commission video news of the day to publish and promote on TVNZ+, building on 1News' reputation for insightful and fair reporting.Stay across work produced across NCA programmes and platforms and develop a schedule for publishing the best video journalism to TVNZ+.Find footage from DPL, check rights and restrictions for use and remove elements that date the content.Understand & monitor data points relating to performance of news content on TVNZ+ to determine what content works for viewers and maximises revenue.Curate the video news journalism on TVNZ+ to meet the strategic aims of the platform and ensure our viewers have the best news experience.Edit video content to a high standard for TVNZ+.This position is an 8-week fixed-term contract commencing Monday 30th September 2024.
You will need to be able to commit to shifts Monday - Friday early 6am-2pm or afternoons/lates 1pm - 9pm or weekends will be 11am-7pm.
Qualities for SuccessExcellent editorial judgement to make content New Zealanders want to watch and demonstrate strong story selection.Strong technical skills to understand and improve processes regarding the workflow for getting content to TVNZ+.Curious mind and a desire to experiment in the digital first space.Excellent understanding of digital platforms and show 'digital first' thinking.Understand legal and ethical requirements, and how to produce high-quality and error-free content.Understand data to monitor analytics tools to help inform decision making.Editorial experience in the media industry, newsroom experience would be advantageous.Digital experience or understanding of the domestic and international digital and news markets.Ability to manage time and resources effectively, work to deadlines, and prioritise multiple demands and tasks.Ability to edit video to a broadcast standard.Basic Photoshop skills.Capable of writing compelling, accurate headlines and summaries.Production skills in news and content environments.Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity!
