Our mission is to build skills, inspire creativity, and provide pathways into digital careers. Native Tech plays a leading role in delivering engaging educational experiences tailored to young people in our community with a focus on wellbeing and identity.
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Teacher (or a willingness to obtain NZ teaching credentials) who has experience working within New Zealand's Education and Unit Standard frameworks, as well as expertise in teaching literacy and numeracy at a high school level. Your combined expertise in digital and creative tech, literacy, and numeracy education, along with your dedication to student success and an appreciation of Te Ao Maori will make you a key member of the team in supporting rangatahi.
About the role:
Assess, moderate and deliver digital tech lessons aligned with New Zealand's Unit Standard framework (NZQA), introducing foundational and advanced tech skills to rangatahi.
Design course content that meets educational standards, including developing and assessing Unit Standards to support student progress.
Mentor and provide pastoral support to students, fostering their academic and personal growth.
Work collaboratively with the Native Tech/DNA team, including Rangatahi Transitions Navigators, to ensure the seamless delivery of our programmes.
Build positive relationships with students, families, community partners, and external educational stakeholders.
Actively contribute to programme development and participate in DNA events and community outreach.

Experience with New Zealand's teaching and Unit Standard/Skill Standard frameworks.
A background in digital or creative technology education is preferred.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A collaborative, student-centred approach to teaching, with a passion for working with rangatahi.
