Digital and Visual Communications Advisor(Permanent Full-Time)
Invercargill City CouncilOur award-winning Communications and Marketing team have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Digital and Visual Communications Advisor.
Our team is responsible for leading strategic communications internally and externally, providing digital, design and video services, and delivering marketing to promote our facilities, such as Splash Palace, the Civic Theatre and Te Unua Museum of Southland. Our objectives are to foster pride in our city and community, build trust in Council, raise awareness of our services and facilities, and drive engagement between the community and Council.
Key responsibilities for this role include: Plan and develop effective and engaging digital content for use across our digital and social media channels to support strategic communications goals and projectsWrite, edit, maintain and publish website and intranet content for Council and its servicesCreate engaging and innovative digital and visual content for Council channels in line with strategic plans including photography, videography and graphic designManage digital livestreaming and video channels for various meetingsDesign and create graphics and edit photos to support delivery of marketing and communications activitiesApply knowledge of the principles and articles of the Treaty of Waitangi to communications and work practices.What you will bring: A relevant tertiary qualification in graphic design, visual communications or related disciplineMinimum two years' demonstrated experience in a similar position delivering effective and engaging visual communicationsCurrent full NZ drivers' licenceAdvanced digital technical skills and experience working with website administration, digital marketing platforms and social mediaExperience using a range of audio and video equipment, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects and PhotoshopKnowledge of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.We are a passionate and energetic team with a positive and supportive culture and some exciting projects on the go.
