This is a newly established role as the ICU is expanded to meet the demands in the current healthcare environment. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will receive regular supervision and opportunities for professional development and you will also be encouraged to develop your skills and professional interests.There is a permanent and a fixed term opportunity providing nutrition support to our ICU. Hours/days will be required to suit our service delivery, this can be discussed further at interview.Ko wai koe | About YouIn this role, you will be responsible for:Undertaking nutrition assessment and implementing an appropriate nutrition support plan for critically ill patients.Working collaboratively and contributing to consultant-led ward rounds, MDT meetings, and have regular consultant communication where nutritional goals, risks and plans are discussed.Collaborating on the development and implementation of any local nutrition support guidelines.Contributing to appropriate strategic meetings and clinical governance activities, including leading regular nutrition-related audits and acting on the results, plus undertaking quality improvement projects that demonstrate the impact of dietetics on service delivery, quality and effectiveness.Providing ongoing education and training for other healthcare professionals.Providing a structured handover to a ward dietitian when patients are discharged from the critical care unit, considering nutrition-related morbidity.Considering undertaking and disseminating nutrition-related research to widen the evidence base.Your skills will include:A drive to ensure best health outcomes for people in critical care.The ability to work within a team and contribute to the provision of quality care within the service.Self-motivated, organised and enjoy a challenge.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships with patients and other people within the service.New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a current NZ Practising Certificate and Prescriber Endorsement.- Ko nga tangata, te matua mahi - Putting people at the heart of all we do -Health New Zealand|Te Whatu Ora, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.
