Want a career that can go the distance? At Sime Darby Motors NZ, our Alliance Truck & Bus team is looking for new diesel technicians - we'll offer you a long career and the chance to constantly upskill on evolving technology delivered by global truck brands. And when you train, we pay.
About the role
We're looking for technically skilled problem-solvers who are passionate about premium brands like Volvo and UD. If you have a curious mindset and get a kick out of evolving technology - we want you. We offer access to OEM tooling and dealer-specific training from global brands - and a front-seat view on the future of transport. Join us and you'll get your hands on hybrid, EV, and hydrogen cell technology as soon as it hits the market. As part of New Zealand's largest automotive group, we offer on-going product, business, and life skills training - and when you train, we pay. So, if you want to work in a high performing team with room to grow, this role could be exactly what you're looking for.
What we offer
UD / Alliance Truck & Bus is part of global company Sime Darby. Our New Zealand group, Sime Darby Motors NZ, delivers an end-to-end commercial truck and transport solution with ten sales and aftersales businesses including Hino, Mack, UD, Truckstops, Hyster, Palfinger, Transpecs and TWL. We also have Continental Cars - a dealer network for luxury European cars which provides sales and aftersales support to brands like BMW, Porsche, MINI, Ferrari, Audi, and Volkswagen. We offer so much more than the average workshop.
At Sime Darby, we grow our people. We've got an in-house training team to help you upskill through technical, business, and life skills modules, delivered in person and online - and career pathways that you can follow to get you to the next step in your career. We also advertise all vacancies across the group internally, so the choice really is yours.
There are heaps of employee benefits too, including:
Sime Darby Privileges, an employee benefits programme with discounted shopping, fuel, in-store discounts and more
Additional leave for long service, birthday, community service and study.
Health benefits including our Sime Darby Southern Cross Group scheme, offering discounted premiums, and free eye, spinal, and hearing tests plus an annual flu vaccination every year.

Locations all over the country and paid relocation support if you choose to move for your next promotion.
Most of our managers progress from the floor, so you'll be mentored by people who understand the role. And, of course, your safety is a priority. Our in-house Health & Safety team works closely with managers to provide training and support, you'll be well taken care of while you work.
