We own and manage farms, factories, and distribution channels, ensuring complete control over the essential aspects of bringing livestock from paddock to plate. We currently have a position available for an experienced Diesel Mechanic for immediate start at our Warrnambool, Victoria, AUSTRALIA site. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded mechanical tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite and reporting to the Transport Manager, the successful applicant for this position will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, mobile plant and equipment in a timely manner, to ensure the operating needs of the business are met. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, and equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policiesUndertaking detailed inspections of heavy vehicles and equipment and correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance on company own equipmentIdentify and repair or report worn or failed components, etc.Maintaining accurate records (time, repair orders and parts usage) on computerFollow administrative procedures for completion of DVR's as instructedComplete service forms, brake forms and other paperwork accurately and legibly in accordance with company guidelines SKILLS & EXPERIENCES: Trade qualification as a heavy vehicle / plant diesel mechanic and can provide evidence of your qualificationGood mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of welding and fabrication would be advantageSome experience within a maintenance related fields performing troubleshooting, repair and maintenance on compactors, containers, and related equipment is advantageousAbility to troubleshoot and make repairs to basic wiring, control wiring and hydraulic systemsYou have the right to work in AustraliaYou must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required As part of The Midfield Group, you will also have access to our comprehensive employee benefits program: Above award base rates, generous bonuses & opportunity for career progression within our global organisationSafe and supportive work environment by providing an Employee Assistance ProgramOn site canteen, free parking, staff discounts, monthly staff BBQs and annual flu vaccination program Apply now by sending your updated CV to (email protected) The Midfield Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
