Our Organisation: This is the largest hospital operating in Health New Zealand. We offer secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato. We also provide niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care. The Hospital is the main hub for acute care and referral services within District. It is an accredited, teaching hospital of Auckland University and University of Otago and caters for most medical and surgical specialties with a catchment area of around 600,000 people. The Opportunity: We are currently looking for full time, permanent or 1 year locum Radiologists to join our team! You will be working with a dedicated and friendly team of more than 50 Radiologists, supported by the wider team of over 170 staff, including Registrars, Sonographers, Radiographers, Nurses, RIS-PACS and administrative support staff. We perform over 225,000 procedures a year for a population of 590,000 South Auckland residents and we pride ourselves on our can-do attitude, excellent training, and very friendly staff. Our Radiology Department is growing rapidly and will be opening a large new state of the art department within the next 24 months. You will be based primarily at the main hospital, an accredited, 850-bed, teaching hospital. We are well-known internationally for our world class work in orthopaedics; burns and spinal injury rehabilitation and we also offer other specialist services, including neonatal intensive care, renal dialysis, and reconstructive and maxillofacial surgery. Important Skills: As the ideal candidate: You should be either registered or be eligible for vocational registration within the scope of Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Candidates with specialist training from the UK, Ireland, United States, Australia, and South Africa will be eligible.
