We have an exciting opportunity to join the DiabetesSpecialist Service as a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist with a focus on thewellbeing of Nga tangata o Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa, the peoples of the Pacific. Ourteam are dedicated to empowering people with Diabetes to be in full control oftheir health and wellbeing, valuing the physical, mental, and spiritualwellbeing of Pacific peoples for equitable health outcomes. The 0.8 FTEpermanent part time position offers a role in a clinical leadership position toshape strategic direction and deliver a holistic level of care.
As a senior member of the team, you will focus onand embrace connectivity by:
Working with communities tobuild, maintain and enable strong foundations for Pacific health and wellbeing. Prioritise disease prevention,health promotion and health & wellbeing. Understand the needs of Pacificpeople and communities, enabling them to exercise authority over their healthand wellbeing. Ensure that timely, high-qualityservices are reaching Pacific peoples. Grow and continually develop theDiabetes service and its care delivery to a high standard of care for Pacificpeople. You will be comfortable with technology and its useto support self-management and improve health outcomes. You will alsohave or be willing to work towards the relevant Postgraduate Study to supportyour clinical expertise with a view to obtaining a RN prescribing endorsement.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako -Skills and Experience A registered Nurse with at leastfive years' experience and strong links to the Pacific community. You will be an expert at leadingand developing nursing practice to improve health outcomes and the managementof Diabetes.  You will hold an appreciationand understanding of health beliefs valued by the Pacific community and bepassionate about building knowledge and empowerment for self-management.  Excellent interpersonal skillsand ability to build effective relationships with a strong patient focus. A current APC and mental healthscope of practice. Ability to work collaborativelyin a multidisciplinary team. Relevant postgraduatequalifications, with a view to obtaining a Nurse prescribing qualification isdesirable.
