Be the champion of the Duke of Ed, supercharging growth and access to the Award.This new role will be responsible for growing the number of schools and organisations who are using the Award Framework, opening new opportunities for young people to access it.The perfect role for a self-starter looking for an opportunity to create a fantastic legacy and enable many more rangatahi to be able to access great non-formal education and learning opportunities.Regular travel required and some flexibility / remote working opportunities available. The successful candidate will ideally be Wellington-based, but we are happy to consider other locations for the right applicant.If you're experienced in business development/sales (or similar), or highly connected in the education/youth sector, and passionate about creating and expanding new opportunities for New Zealand youth to thrive, we would love to hear from you!The RoleThe Development Manager (2-year contract) is the driving force behind the growth and development of the Award across the motu. They are a member of the Senior Leadership Team.This role focuses on creating new opportunities to scale and transform Award access and impact, by encouraging more schools and organisations to run the Award. It's about building great relationships and opening new doors, so more schools and organisations can see the benefit of the Award Framework, and can use it as an effective tool to help support their wider mahi.In addition, this role also has strategic oversight and management of funding activity, to ensure that funding applications meet organisational need and help to set the right foundations to drive growth and access potential for the future.Responsibilities include:Leading the growth of the Award network, growing the number of organisations who run the Award and the number of young people who participate;Prospecting and revenue-generation;Development of our national partner and Government contract opportunities;Funding oversight and management;Playing an active role in the Award's strategic direction and delivery and providing leadership and guidance as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.About YouYou're looking for a great opportunity to use your business development and relationship building skills to create an exciting new legacy. You're passionate about creating positive outcomes for youth and you're ready to put your skills to work creating many more opportunities for rangatahi to thrive.Our ideal candidate will have:Business Development Experience: 8+ years' experience in a business development role or similar, driving development/sales and growth ambitions.Leadership: An experienced people leader.Industry Knowledge: Experience in or an understanding of the youth/education sector is preferable.Funding Experience: Experience in grant funding and/or fundraising is preferable, ideally at a leadership/strategic level.A Networker and Relationship Builder: Proven ability to open doors, and generate and maintain new connections, constantly motivating people and removing barriers to enabling exceptional customer service.A Proactive Self-Starter: You're passionate about our mahi and driven to achieve great results.
