Full time, Permanent3 days ago, from Thames-Coromandel District CouncilLeading and managing Council's Development Engineering Team and workload, you will work closely with other stakeholders to create a collaborative and high-performing work environment.Coordinating the assessment of resource consent applications, to ensure that development across the peninsula is supported and new infrastructure assets are appropriate for vesting in Council.Tasks and responsibilitiesLeading and mentoring staff while providing professional advice to applicants regarding engineering issues to achieve workable solutions.Working across the organisation, for example with Planning, Regulatory and Infrastructure teams, in a collaborative manner.Ensuring public infrastructure assets are designed and built in accordance with Council's engineering standards and policies before being vested in Council.Ensuring the team workload and timeframes are met for the assessment of resource and building consents.Skills and experienceYou will have a thorough understanding of how development engineering fits into the processing of resource consents under the Resource Management Act, as well as:Experience working in a Land Development management role in a local authority and/or consultancy sector.Relevant tertiary Engineering qualification e.g. BE Civil, B.Technology, NZCE Civil or NZ Dip.Eng.Sound understanding of roads, water, wastewater, and stormwater engineering requirements.Experience in supervising roading and three-waters design and construction projects.Working knowledge of NZS3910: Condition of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction.You will have great people and leadership experience, with strong ethics and an ability to develop and maintain sound professional relationships.
