We are in an exciting period of growth and seeking an experienced Development Engineer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be innovative to meet our increasing community wants and needs.Working within the Infrastructure Team, the Development Engineers provide advice and support to development projects across the district.Tasks and ResponsibilitiesUndertaking assessment of resource and building consentsEnsuring public infrastructure assets are designed and built in accordance with Council's engineering standards and policies before being vested in CouncilProviding professional advice to applicants regarding engineering issues to achieve workable solutions.Skills and ExperienceYou will have a good understanding of how development engineering fits into the processing of resource consents under the Resource Management Act, including knowledge of geotechnical and traffic engineering, as well as:Experience working in a local authorityRelevant tertiary Engineering qualification e.g. BE Civil, B.Technology, NZCE Civil or NZ Dip.Eng.Understanding of roads, water, wastewater and stormwater engineering requirementsExperience and knowledge in roading and drainage construction projectsWorking knowledge of NZS3910: Condition of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction.You will have a great work ethic and an ability to develop and maintain sound professional relationships.
