Are you great with numbers?Position based in ParaparaumuWhat's in it for you?Great location, miss the traffic in an idyllic part of NZ!Generous remuneration in line with experienceHealth and wellbeing package, that puts you firstExcellent growth and development opportunitiesThe RoleFundamentally, this role is about providing design services for the Programmes Team for new customer connections andnetwork improvements.Reporting to the Programme Manager, you as our new Design/Estimator will work with our third-party customers and clients, to undertake design and estimation, as you gain approvals, consent and permissions on a per-project basis. You will understand how critical this roles is, in providing key inputs into asset lifecycle safety in design processes.You will partner with our Project Managers to ensure work is completed as specified in your designs, and that they come in on time and within budget.This will include:Undertaking third party and significant network designsMaintaining an excellent rapport with customers, by building solid relationships an communication channels that are fit for purposeUnderstanding overhead and underground customer reticulation requirementsDesigning or specifying logical and fit for purpose electrical or mechanical equipment for installation purposesPreparing drawings for designs to be approved and executedWorking with external providers including visits to potential site to ensure plans and designs meet requirements, specifications and expectationsHaving an eye for numbers, ensuring that your estimations and designs, align to budget and profitability targetsManaging an efficient job estimation processAbout youWith substantial experience in a similar role, and a solid understanding of how electricity distribution works, you'll be able to hit the ground running.Ideally, you'll have graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering, or have been on the tools as a Line Mechanic (or similar) and have worked your way up into the office.You'll be comfortable working with mathematic calculations, computer aided design and drawing tools such as AutoCAD and Catan and are generally a competent systems user.You are a clear, articulate and factually based communicator who can share ideas and learn.Finally, it goes without saying that you will ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations.Why Join Electra?With a competitive salary, an amazing well-being offering, and career and professional development at your fingertips, there's never been a better time to join us than now!We are Electra Limited, a dynamic and innovative local business embedded in the vibrant communities of the Horowhenua and Kapiti regions in New Zealand.
