We in turn encourage them to make the best decisions because we believe our team is the heart and soul of us.ABOUT THE ROLEDesigners / sheet metal estimators play an important role in the profitability of any manufacturing and fabrication company as they are responsible for determining the total cost of a project — including time, materials, and labour while liaising with contractors to produce competitive bids for jobs, controlling costs, improving efficiencies, and impacting business growth.
(MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN SHEET METAL INDUSTRY)If you want to be a part of this journey, then this role is for you.Skills/Qualifications:Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, DraughtSight, Sigma Nest, 3D and 2D drawings.Ability to read, understand, and interpret 2D and 3D drawings, and analyze specifications and tolerances.Attention to detail.Communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.REQUIREMENTSMechanical Engineering background / Experience in Engineering / sheet metal design preferred.Knowledge and understanding of material, equipment, and labour costs.Proficient in drafting software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, DraughtSight, Sigma Nest.Prepare reports, meet project bid deadlines and schedules.Can prepare sheet metal take-off for inclusion into estimating software, including drawings.Communicate with customers daily to request orders/provide quotations via telephone or email and communicate any discrepancies or issues related to jobs to management.Knowledge in fiber laser and brake press operation (but not essential).Help and coordinate with other staff (office & warehouse).Any other duties as assigned by management.Cultural RequirementsDemonstrate ethical behaviour.Value team accomplishments over personal/individual accomplishments.Continually drive improvement.Well organized with excellent time management skills.Communicate effectively with peers, superiors, and co-workers.Desire additional responsibility and leadership.Thrive in a fast-paced environment.Provide a positive influence on employee morale.Strive to maintain the goals of the organization.This is a full-time position.REMUNERATIONStarting Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 (depending on experience)BENEFITS• Kiwi Saver• Mobile phone• 4 weeks paid annual leave• 10 days sick leave per yearHow do your skills match this job?Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as an Estimator?Which of the following CAD software do you have experience with?Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?How much notice are you required to give your current employer?
