We have 6 Senior Design Analyst and 12 Design Analyst roles available across our statistical delivery branches. All roles are permanent unless stated otherwise.
As a Senior Design Analyst or Design Analyst, you'll be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing innovative statistical, data and analytical solutions to support and inform all stages of the data and statistics lifecycle across Stats NZ. The roles provide expert guidance and advice to a wide range of teams and individuals across Stats NZ and the wider data ecosystem.

This team plays a pivotal role in providing technical support for the Code Modules Initiative.
Role available: 1x Design Analyst. Based in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch.

Integrated Statistical Data System Futures | Punaha Raraunga Tatauranga Pahekohaeko:
Roles available: 1x Senior Design Analysts, 3x Design Analysts. Based in Wellington or Christchurch.
These roles would suit someone who can bring:
Experience and interest in macroeconomic, population and housing, or social and environment data.
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (computer science, statistics, etc.) that has a significant data component or equivalent experience.
Examples of technical leadership, e.g. in decision making, problem solving, or leading a technical project.
A passion for innovation and application of conceptual and creative thinking skills.
Experience performing data analysis using statistical applications (such as R, Python or SAS or equivalent).
Great team-working skills and the confidence to create strong working relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated customer centricity.
Interest in learning about Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Maori.
For senior roles, experience with relevant quantitative and qualitative research.
