Deputy Principal | Tumuaki Tuarua Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Deputy principal Subjects: English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The arts 7MU and 1SMA Christchurch Girls' High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora is a leading state day and boarding school for Y9-13 students, located in the heart of Christchurch. We are seeking an experienced, inspirational, and ambitious leader, with a passion for girls' education to join our Senior Leadership Team and drive the strategic direction, whilst ensuring an ethos of high expectation and care across the school. As a leader, they will prioritise a relational and responsive culture while shaping a future-focused curriculum that supports all learners. They will demonstrate high-quality interpersonal skills, enhance our values, foster a team spirit of collaboration and support a positive, inclusive, and respectful culture. The successful candidate will lead both strategically and operationally, facilitate innovation and change, and drive school-wide initiatives to support improved student outcomes. They will have experience in leading teaching and learning initiatives, developing a responsive curriculum which fosters engagement and enhances learning, be confident in leading PLD, and be able to mentor and support staff. An effective administrator and excellent communicator, the Deputy Principal will be a leader and team player with a proven supportive, adaptable, and solution-focused approach. They will bring energy, enthusiasm, and commitment and become actively involved in extracurricular activities and the wider school life, supporting the wellbeing and holistic education of our kura. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking, and high-functioning team. The exact specifics of the portfolio will be negotiated and will depend on the strengths of the successful candidate and the needs of SLT and our kura.
