Wa Ora Montessori School is an area school (primary and high school 6–18yrs) with an adjoining private Montessori preschool (3–6yrs). We are a community-based school with close connections to our whanau (families) and while our setting is urban, it also looks out onto beautiful bush clad hills.We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader for the position of deputy principal preschool, overseeing the early childhood sector of the school, including four classrooms, outdoor environment, playgroup, and before/after school care. You will become an important member of our innovative and friendly senior leadership team in a highly collaborative working environment and also take on the role of Board/council staff representative, attending meetings where necessary.It is a requirement that you have successfully completed an AMI Montessori Diploma (3–6), have prior experience overseeing/teaching in a Montessori environment, and possess current New Zealand teacher registration. Experience with conducting appraisals, self-reviews, mentoring, and coaching new and experienced teachers is also essential.You will have a great sense of humour, love and respect young children, and appreciate the potential inherent in the first plane of development.
