Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Deputy Principal English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The Arts The Deputy Principal position for 2025 at Miramar Central School presents an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team of a vibrant and inclusive U4 school. This role is based in a multicultural setting that prioritises Positive Behaviour for Learning and student inclusivity. The successful candidate will be entrusted with a range of key responsibilities, including: Leadership of the senior team (Y4–6) : Guiding the teaching and learning practices for upper primary students. Curriculum leadership : Leading the implementation of the refreshed English and Mathematics curricula, fostering a student-led, inquiry-based learning approach. SENCO responsibilities : Overseeing special education needs to ensure all students receive appropriate support and inclusive education. PB4L leadership : Promoting a positive school culture through the leadership of the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework. Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with students, staff, whanau, and the broader community. Proven expertise in pedagogical leadership, with a track record of driving innovative change in educational settings. Flexibility and adaptability in managing classroom teaching responsibilities, based on school needs. A collaborative leadership style that supports and works with the entire school community. The role also involves some classroom teaching, with flexibility around what this might entail.
