AJHS, a future-focused Y7–10 junior high school, is seeking an experienced and passionate leader, with proven experience in senior leadership, to join our growing senior leadership team as deputy principal.
As a deputy principal, you will promote our values (kia pono|integrity, kia manaaki|respect, kia maia|courage), school-wide PB4L approach, wellbeing, and innovative curriculum delivery. This is pivotal in supporting our school to strengthen progress and achievement for student outcomes, pastoral care, and positive relationships with students, staff, whanau, and the wider community.
A deep understanding and active, living commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi with the implementation of matauranga Maori incorporated into our school curriculum, pedagogy, and culture is crucial. Attributes and characteristics to build and maintain professional and effective relationships, with high-level communication and interpersonal skills that enable the effective day-to-day management of the school, are essential.
Applicants can be primary or secondary trained - AJHS operates under the Secondary collective. Applicants must be well versed in the NZC and have current NZ teacher registration.
Applicants must have either NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
