Heath Childcare are looking to appoint a full-time deputy childcare manager.Heath Childcare is open 7:30am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday and only shuts for bank holidays and in between Christmas and New Year. There are 8 members of staff, and they were awarded Good at their last Ofsted inspection.Staff are entitled to 20 days holiday a year.The deputy will be on £7.65 per hour and will be contracted for 37.5 hours a week (extra hours are given regularly, and all staff are willing to do extra hours).Job DescriptionResponsible for the management of Heath Childcare in collaboration with and in the absence of the Manager; providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children between 6 weeks and 11 years old.Duties will include:Working closely with the Nursery ManagerAdhering to the Policies and Procedures of Heath ChildcareMaintaining accurate and confidential staff, children's, and parents' recordsWelcoming parents, children, and visitorsShowing a caring attitude towards distressed parents, children, and staffCommunicating pleasantly and effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephoneIdentifying and following the correct procedures when dealing with a child protection issueMonitoring and being vigilant regarding securitySupervising students, working in partnership with their colleges and tutorsShowing new and prospective parents around the nursery when needed, introducing them to staff members and answering any questions or queries they may haveOrganising room leaders' meetingsCovering short staff within all rooms whenever neededWorking with other agencies i.e. early years, Early intervention team, Ofsted, college tutors, etc.Becoming a room leaderAny other duties requested by the Director/ManagerPersonal Specification:- Essential: Minimum Level 3 Childcare and Development, Clear Enhanced CRB disclosure- Natural passion for working with children and developing them- Experience in working with 6 weeks to 11-year-old children- Sound knowledge of childcare development and EYFS- Ability to communicate with other team members and parents- Ability to organise, motivate, and lead the team- Ability to work as part of a team- Self-motivated- Willingness to undertake training as necessary- Ability to use initiative- Ability to handle situations calmly- Safeguarding- First Aid- Food HygieneA visit to the setting is encouraged to help with your decision.
