If so, then come join the Democratic Services team!About the role | Ko te mahi neiAs a Democratic Support Services Officer, you are a key team player providing administrative and secretarial support to the Council and its committees.
You'll be providing support in a formal Council meeting one moment and processing public-facing documents and District Licensing Committee decisions the next - in addition to dealing with a range of systems and technology, so having confidence to learn and adapt is a must.
You'll have to deal with both reactive situations and daily tasks, so being able to think on your feet will come in handy.Attentive yet calm and collected under pressure, with a professional manner as you support livestreamed formal Council meetings by typing live on screen and displaying documents.Ability to multitask while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, as you will also be supporting and processing District Licensing Committee decisions and dealing with a wide range of public-facing documents.Highly organised, task-oriented, a quick learner, and able to produce consistently high standards of work within tight legislative timeframes without being fazed.Excellent communication skills as you deal with multiple internal and external stakeholders including Commissioners, Elected Members, and Senior staff.Enthusiastic and energetic self-starter with strong experience in secretarial administration.
You will be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
