This role is part of the engine room supporting local democracy, ensuring agendas, administration support, standing orders, and advice on the democratic process is provided in a timely way.About youThis role requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others to achieve the best results. Some knowledge of the Local Government Act and/or the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act would be beneficial, but it's more important candidates come with the ability to pick up and understand these pieces of legislation. A related qualification or relevant experience would also be an advantage.Our ideal candidate would have:Knowledge of LGOIMA and a basic understanding of other relevant legislationStrong administration skills and experience around the preparation of professional meeting agendas and minutesUnderstanding of local government systems and processesAbility to effectively facilitate and mediate between the operational and governance sides of local governmentAbility to operate effectively with a high level of diplomacyAdept in the use of communication technologyDemonstrated ability to work well and support others within a team environment.The successful candidate will be a great fit for the team and have transferable skills or relevant experience.
