Dementia (Mate Wareware) HomeShare CoordinatorAged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)In this role, you will coordinate and ensure the dementia mate wareware Homeshare service is effectively rolled out across the Central Otago District to deliver high-quality dementia mate wareware services to clients.
You will effectively engage with Alzheimers Otago to ensure all Homeshare hosts are appropriately trained and supported.
You will need to ensure the programme is sustainable and inclusive of Maori cultural concepts, values, beliefs, and practices, including the commitment to the ongoing usage of Te Reo Maori.This role will involve travel within Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes (Queenstown, Wanaka, Cromwell) and you would ideally be living in one of these areas.The South Island Te Waipounamu dementia mate wareware Homeshare pilot is a Respite Care Initiative which is resourced by Te Whatu Ora/Health NZ as part of the dementia Action Plan to begin testing improvements to support people with dementia mate wareware, their whanau and carers.It is a collaboration between Presbyterian Support Upper South Island and Presbyterian Support Otago, Alzheimers Otago, Alzheimers South Canterbury, Alzheimers Tasman Nelson, Alzheimers Marlborough and Dementia Canterbury.You will positively promote the service through excellent communication and engagement with key stakeholders.About YouThe ideal applicant will have:Relevant tertiary qualifications in health-related disciplines is desired.Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the Health or Social Service sectors.Well-established networks within the health sector will be an added advantage.Experience working with older people and an understanding of the range of opportunities and challenges influencing this group.Sound computer skills, and administration experience including meeting coordination and minute-taking.Group facilitation experience, networking, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to respect and adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries.Openness to and enjoyment of differences in values, beliefs, and cultural practices.Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet expected deadlines.Manage confidential information with responsibility and integrity.Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders.What We OfferBeing part of a well-known and highly respected charitable organization.Joining a team that makes a real difference in people's lives.Working with a team of passionate people.About UsAlzheimers Otago is a not-for-profit Charitable Trust.
