The Opportunity
As a Demand and Supply Planner, you will be responsible for managing the global demand and supply for your assigned product category. Your primary focus will be maintaining accurate forecasts using provided Excel templates within the S&OP process. These forecasts will guide production planning, the purchase of finished goods from global supply sites, and provide a forward view of sales revenue for the business.
You will collaborate closely with the commercial team to ensure that flock, promotional, and marketing activities are accurately reflected in the forecasts. Additionally, you will maintain close contact with factories to communicate changes in demand and ensure timely supply. You will also interface with the Finance team to provide SKU volumes for the quarterly business forecast and plan.
You will also be responsible for working with third-party suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
Responsibilities
Maintain valid forecast in offline excel files in volume and gross sales level for the next 18 months as a minimum. This will be done through consolidating the inputs gathered in the S&OP process, performing trend analysis and providing challenge to the stakeholders in the Commercial Business.
Lead the relevant Demand Planning Meeting within the S&OP process to generate the business forecast for relevant categories.
Ensure product is available on time, in full by dealing directly with global suppliers and factory.
Ownership and achievement of main 3 Key KPIs – Customer Service, Inventory and Forecast Accuracy.
Planning at right level of product hierarchy on a fortnightly basis.
The co-ordination and development of the systems to support Planning.
Support NPD/EPD projects within product portfolio.
Other areas of focus include acting as an agent for continuous process improvement and ensuring adherence to Supply policies and procedures.
Work on projects to continually improve Supply Chain efficiencies through our Global Network.
Qualifications/Experience
Minimum Tertiary Qualifications of a Bachelor's degree.
5 years' experience in demand & supply planning or similar position in FMCG.
Experience in leading the sourcing and structuring of appropriate data (e.g. KPI's and benchmarks) to make robust business decisions.
Influences others through data and analyses to produce better business decisions.
Develops scenarios, collects and interprets data to determine appropriate action.
Experience leading relevant S&OP process for assigned category with commercial, influences and manages meetings and updates forecasts.
Leads and guides others to use forecasting systems to optimise overall forecast performance.
Challenges to ensure long term forecasts are incorporated into Supply strategy, capacity planning and cross-functional capability building.
Strong analytical approach to reaching conclusions.
Objective and independent thinker – reaches own conclusion from data gathered or presented.
Excellent Leadership Qualities with ability to drive Brand performance through S&OP forum.
Ability to manage large volumes of data and reports.
