Deepsea Fishing Crew Candidates

Details of the offer

Our deep sea fishing opportunities offer great challenges and rewards.

You'll earn great money and receive up to four months' leave per year when you join our hard-working deepsea fishing crew. We're looking for applicants to take part in our pre-employment training courses.
Talley's is proudly New Zealand owned and operated. We run five deep sea fishing vessels with primarily Kiwi crews bringing the best New Zealand seafood to the world. We are looking for prospective crew members who are interested in a career in deepsea fishing.
The adventure begins with a six-day pre-employment course in Nelson, where you'll receive specialised training to prepare you for sea. We'll provide NZQA unit standards in health & safety, firefighting, sea survival, and seafood handling. You'll also participate in practical sessions in the pool and gym to test you mentally and physically for the conditions at sea.
If you're from out of town, we'll provide you with accommodation and food during the course; you just have to get yourself to Nelson.
Upon successfully completing the course, you'll be invited to join our crew. You'll earn great money on board our fleet of modern vessels, all with comfortable cabins, usually with an ensuite. Most of our fleet also features an onboard gym, WIFI, and plenty of space to relax in your downtime.
Living expenses are low when you're out at sea, providing an excellent opportunity to save. We also offer ongoing specialised training opportunities that equip you with skills and qualifications for a successful career.
Motivated and energetic team players who get on well with others.
People who can take direction, are willing to learn and progress within our company.
Conditions at sea can be challenging, so being fit and healthy is a must.
You must be at least 18 years old to work at sea.
A valid New Zealand Passport is advantageous.
No criminal record.
The next course starts Monday 9th December.
To apply, please visit www.talleysdeepseacareer.co.nz and use CREW as the reference for the position you're applying for.
For more information, please call 0800 080 725.
Talley's is committed to Health & Safety in all our workplaces, and all our vessels are drug-free. We carry out pre-employment and routine random drug testing for all our employees. We'll also conduct a pre-employment medical check with our company Doctor to ensure you are fit for sea.
