Deep Sea Import Operator

We are currently seeking a Seafreight Import Operator for our client based in Greenhithe, Kent, who is a leading Logistics provider and respected Freight Forwarder.

As the Seafreight Import Operator, day-to-day duties will involve dealing with companies worldwide, liaising with overseas agents, customers, and hauliers, controlling all aspects of Seafreight imports from start to finish.

Duties: Control all Seafreight Import activities on a start-to-finish basis. Ensure all consignments are loaded onto the computer system prior to arrival/departure. Keep customers fully informed of anything which may cause delay to a shipment. Develop constructive relationships with key customers and suppliers. The successful Seafreight Import Operator will have start-to-finish Sea Freight Import experience or have worked as a Seafreight Import Operator, Import Clerk, or Import Coordinator.

We would love to speak with enthusiastic individuals who have a good operational know-how of import procedures, excellent customer service skills, and experience of LCL and FCL from a freight/logistics background.

Being a proficient communicator in person, on the phone, and in writing, along with having commercial sense, are vital attributes.
