We are looking for a new Dealer Principal to drive our Southern-most business forward. Southern Automobiles is a privately owned company with a strong history in Invercargill as part of a wider well-established, Southern-based MV dealer group. The Opportunity : Leading the business and overseeing the operational management of the dealership site with a strong focus on both sales and vehicle servicing. We are seeking an experienced and dependable people manager with proven experience growing a great team culture. Reporting to our board, your responsibilities will consist of : Overview and management of vehicle sales, finance, parts and service. Maintenance of customer service levels. Management of sales and financial budgets for the dealership, including meeting agreed-on sales volume and profitability targets. Overseeing and monitoring local marketing strategies. About you : Dealer Principal experience in the automotive industry is certainly desirable, but at a minimum, you have had leadership experience in sales, vehicle finance, and the day-to-day operations of the service and parts department New Zealand's automotive industry. You must be able to demonstrate how you have driven business improvement. Additionally, you should have demonstrated the capability to align strategy with goals and have experience in change management, including challenging and developing people to achieve top performance. You are an entrepreneurial thinker and can continuously learn and improve business processes. You are 'hands-on' - we are looking for the type of leader who lives by the principle of management by walking around and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. We know that managers who work alongside their people are the ones who earn tremendous respect and achieve results. Must have a full, clean NZ driver license and the right to work in NZ.
