About the role : We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Database Administrator to join our FIS team in our Christchurch office. Working in a hybrid environment, you will be part of the FIS team that develops market-leading treasury management solutions for large corporate and governmental institutions alike. You will provide database support to application teams and support the Network Operations Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Database Administrator keen to join a fantastic team working on a state-of-the-art Treasury software product. You will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills with cloud-based technology while in turn helping to future-proof our technology platform. Your focus will be : Database software installation, upgrade/patching Infrastructure management Creation and support of application databases Providing support as needed for issues with database environments Implementing backup/recovery procedures to protect the integrity of data in the database environment Disaster recovery testing and documentation What You Will Bring : You will have solid experience in a similar role and a thorough understanding of DBA processes, including the following: Sound experience with Oracle in installing, patching and troubleshooting Strong SQL Server experience and knowledge of installing, patching and troubleshooting Able to write SQL scripts and Powershell Code Ability to work autonomously Solid problem solving and strong communication skills A desire to upskill in emerging technologies Bonus If You Have : Experience in AWS or other cloud-based technology Experience in database performance tuning and investigation Experience with Postgres Administration Good knowledge of SRE practices and ideally knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure code Knowledge of Kubernetes or other containerization technologies Experience in Banking, Treasury or Finance What we offer you : At FIS, we hire the best.
