We are looking for passionate individuals who want to use their time and energy to join a fun movement for positive social change! StarJam is a fun, creative, and positive not-for-profit that is changing the way New Zealanders view disability by helping young people with disabilities unleash their potential through musical performance. We believe anything is possible and our weekly music-based workshops support Jammers (young people living with any disability aged 6 – 25) to discover their unique talents, in their own way and time.
There is no musical ability required- just the right attitude! There is no pre-requisite to be a dancer, singer or drummer! Just enthusiasm, an open-mind and a willingness to work with young people.
StarJam Wellington has 11 workshops across the region all held on weeknights from 6.30 – 8.00 pm. The workshop is run by a tutor, and volunteers are there to support the tutor and young people – ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the participants.
We are looking for more volunteers to join our team in Kapiti! The workshops are held on evenings during the school term from 6:15pm-8:15pm, so this best suited to someone who can commit to regular involvement, one night per week during the school term. Our current vacancies are for Wednesday evenings.
