As Dairy Farm Manager, you'll apply expert pasture management and feed budgeting to maximise productivity and drive growth.
Lead a high achieving team of around five people, in daily operations, animal welfare, and sustainable practices to take this property to the next level.
Key responsibilities include: Plan and coordinate structured stock rotations and managing overall farm performance, physical and financialLeadership in health, safety, and wellness on the farm, driving a positive culture of risk awarenessCollaborating and communicating with the Business Manager on strategic planning and budgetsBuilding and maintaining robust rural networksBeing an ambassador for Pamu's brand reputation within the communityThis role also gives you an opportunity for hands-on familiarisation with Pamu systems and processes. You'll gain proficiency in managing your own Farmax file and accurately recording data into FarmIQ.
You'll have the full support of a Business Manager to help you settle into the role and assist in any areas where it's needed such as financial reporting, planning, or pasture management. Together you will work to deliver quality results.
We also have a robust health and safety regime at Pamu, and Egmont has well maintained, up to date farm equipment.
We are looking to have someone start in the role late January 2025.
The Farm Located 10 minutes south of Westport, Bassets Dairy milk 1060 Kiwi Cross Cows using a 60-bail rotary with ACRs and Milk Hub.
The farm is approximately 460 ha effective and 120 ha bush with rolling terrain and sandy soils.
Bassets was recognised as a high performing farm and named Pamu's top dairy farm for the 2019/2020 season.
About You You have a genuine passion for agriculture, and you are enthusiastic about further developing your skills and expertise in the field.
You will ideally have experience in managing a dairy farm, including pasture management and feed budgeting or you will have worked in a senior role leading a team and you are looking for that next opportunity to further your career.
