The OpportunityAre you an enthusiastic Dairy Farm Assistant looking to join our close-knit team? This is an excellent opportunity to secure continuous work in a large farming organisation with opportunities for growth and development.
Your main responsibilities will include milking, fencing, feeding out, and stock work.
Blair's Dairy runs a 6/2 roster from August to the New Year during the peak season and goes to a 6/3 roster for the rest of the year.
The FarmAt Blairs Dairy, we milk 800 cows in a rotary 60 bail cow shed. The farm is a humped and hollowed terrain of 450 ha and 435 ha effective with an in-shed feeding/Milkhub System.
We're part of the Pamu Weka Dairy Complex on the West Coast, and we have group raft trips, Christmas parties, etc. There's a strong community feel in the West Coast dairy team.
About YouThe main thing you will bring to this role is a positive can-do attitude, with passion and enthusiasm for dairy farming.
Ideally, you will also have:
A minimum of 1 season's experience in dairy farming (preferred)First class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, and Environmental ManagementGreat team player and effective communication skillsRestricted or full NZ driver's licenceBenefitsThe West Coast's beaches are right on our doorstep. With plenty of good fishing in the local rivers and hunting available right on our farm, there's no shortage of recreation to keep you busy.
Accommodation will be provided; the school bus stops near the farm gate for the local primary school and high school.
