Join us as Cyclic Maintenance Operator for the Mackenzie District Road Maintenance Contract!
The contract involves roading maintenance, renewals and operational work for 750kms of local roads within the district, and we require an experienced and motivated cyclic operator to help deliver work for the Mackenzie District Council, safely, on time and to the highest quality standard. In this role, you will be the lead cyclic operator for the contract.
In addition to the above you will:
Complete road inspections and required maintenance activities (e.g. snow clearing).
Promptly respond to emergency events/callouts and provide an overall great service to the Mackenzie community.
Act as the face of the contract, ensuring a professional approach in public relations.
Maintain a high attention to detail to produce accurate records and reporting.
Perform any other general maintenance tasks as required.
The Contract area includes Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, Fairlie and Twizel townships, high country lake fronts, with some great skiing, boating, hunting and fishing, all throughout the World's largest international dark sky reserve. If you love the outdoors – this is the place to be!

We're looking for someone with:
Previous experience in Road maintenance, ideally cyclic operations.
Class 2 drivers' licence and WTR endorsements (training can be provided for those without!).
The ability to work unsupervised as well as in a fast-paced team environment.
A proactive approach to health and safety – it's our #1 priority!
A strong sense of community ownership, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A focus on quality and caring for the environment.
A willingness to learn and advance current skills to meet contract objectives.
