We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Customs Broker to join our growing team.
Role Overview: As a Customs Broker at Mainfreight, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient clearance of goods through customs. You will work closely with our clients to provide expert advice and solutions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and processing import documentation.
Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and tariff laws.
Liaising with customs authorities and other government agencies.
Providing accurate and timely advice to clients on customs-related matters.
Managing and resolving customs-related issues and queries.
Keeping up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and practices.
Maintaining and updating records in our systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Customs Broker.
Strong work ethic and positive "can do" attitude.
Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in relevant software and systems.
Customs brokerage license is preferred.

Our ideal candidate would have previous New Zealand freight forwarding experience of 1-2 years and preferably hold a current New Zealand Customs Pin Number. We are seeking someone who is proactive, with the ability to prioritise tasks and problem solve. You will have good time management skills with a strong attention to detail - someone who takes pride in everything you do. Being a team player is a must.
