We are looking for a Customer Services Officer for one of our clients based in Rangiora. This role offers a unique chance to work with the public and make a positive impact in your community.
The Role:
Position : Customer Services Officer
Location : High Street, Rangiora, Canterbury
Pay Rate : $29.50 per hour + 8% holiday pay
Schedule : Flexible hours, with shifts available Monday to Friday and occasional weekend hours as needed. Hours can be 8.30 am - 5 pm or can accommodate earlier or later start/finishes if needed.
Contract Duration : ASAP start - expected end date 28 March 2025. Possibility of extension to be discussed closer to the time.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for customer enquiries via phone, email, online, and in-person.
Process payments, transfers, and refunds accurately.
Manage facility bookings and maintain a register of keys for council buildings.
Handle kerbside bin orders, invoices, and customer details updates.
Allocate service requests and ensure accurate descriptions are logged.
Administer dog registrations, renewals, and internet payment processing.
Implement cemetery bookings, interment warrants, and maintain accurate records.
Manage cash banking, petty cash, and balance daily transactions.
Support rates administration, including rebate applications and direct debit queries.
Process vehicle crossing permits, applications, and inspection bookings.
Maintain readiness of customer service centers, ensuring resources are available.
Assist with mail management, building consent enquiries, and other admin tasks.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a friendly and professional Customer Services Officer who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. The successful candidate will bring:
Experience : Previous in customer-facing roles. Ideally in a Call Centre environment handling inbound calls.
Skills : Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational abilities.
Knowledge : Local government experience is a plus, with familiarity of the Waimakariri District being beneficial.
Education : Secondary education (NCEA Level 3 or equivalent); relevant certifications are an advantage.
