Glenorchy Air is looking for an experienced and dynamic Customer Experience Manager to join our team.
Glenorchy Air is a family-owned and operated scenic flight company based at Queenstown Airport, proudly rated as the #1 Outdoor Activity in Queenstown on TripAdvisor. We operate flights to some of the most stunning destinations on the South Island, including Milford Sound, Mt Cook, Mt Aspiring and Stewart Island. Our passion for aviation and the beautiful region we fly around is what drives us to deliver exceptional service to our guests.
This key role will involve leading and developing a high-performing customer service team, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. You'll be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, managing challenging situations, supporting team development and driving sales growth.
A primary requirement of this role is a consistent presence during the weekends, meaning rostered days off will be midweek.
What you'll have… At least three years in a supervisory or management role, with proven success in leading and developing a high-performing team, ideally within tourism or hospitality.
Experience in conducting regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, and implementing 1:1 meetings to support team development.
A passion for providing exceptional customer service and the ability to multi-task whilst remaining calm and focused under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, outstanding organisation skills, a can-do attitude, and an eye for detail and accuracy.
An understanding that working the weekends is a key requirement for this role.
The right to work in New Zealand – resident or valid work visa only. We are unable to offer any sponsorship visas at this time.
A full clean NZ driver's licence for a minimum of 2 years (preferred not essential).
What you'll do… Leadership: Develop, train, and manage a high-performing team. Participating in staff meetings and contributing to the development of company procedures.
Customer Experience: Lead the team in delivering an exceptional service. Handling challenging situations, managing customer feedback, and overseeing the quality of our customer interactions.
Operations: Manage flight coordinators and ground staff to ensure smooth running of day-to-day operations. Ensuring flights and logistics are conducted in the safest and most efficient way possible.
Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with H&S policies and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules. Maintaining a safe and presentable workplace, adhering to and actively contributing to our Safety Management System.
Sales: Drive sales opportunities and assist in achieving sales targets.

Based at Queenstown Airport, you will be working in a busy environment with a small, tight-knit team. You will be working varied hours between 7.30 am – 6:30 pm, within a 7-day-a-week business. You must be available to work weekends! Previous team management and customer service experience is essential and time working within a Queenstown-based tourism role or coordinating a fast-paced operation would be preferred.
