Financial Managers, Branch or Department About the role Due to an internal secondment, we have an exciting opportunity for a Custodial Services Manager to join our Operations team.
Reporting to the Co-Head of Operations, this is a fixed-term contract for a period of 18 months, based at our Head Office in Tauranga.
The Custodial Services Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and ongoing development of Custodial Services Ltd (CSL), ensuring the timely and accurate operation of the Custodial team processes and tasks.
To create the best possible outcomes for our clients, the role has an emphasis on business process improvements to streamline processes and improve operating efficiencies.
The position also has a focus on ensuring efficient and accurate processing of transactions, ensuring internal controls and processes are in place and are monitored effectively.
You will also be required to support the team through technology platforms and systems changes.
The Custodial Services Manager is also responsible for leading a team of Custodial professionals, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and documented for all team members, prioritising work when required, and balancing the allocation of resources between proactive and reactive tasks.
The role is also responsible for the development of the team through coaching, reviewing development goals, ensuring consistent cross-training, developing and supporting team culture, and other leadership activities as required.
CSL is an integral part of the Craigs Investment Partners (CIP) product range as a full-service investment advisory firm.
CSL offers a full administration service, acting as a bare trustee, holding clients securities in trust.
CSL collects incomes, maintains securities, and ensures appropriate action is taken for corporate action events.
About you We are ideally looking for someone with prior experience in a Custodian, with prior leadership experience.
This role will suit a leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team.
As we are undertaking some technology transformation, experience in leading through change would also be beneficial.
You will also have: A relevant qualification in finance, commerce or business administration Experience leading a team of financial experts or administrators Strong people leadership skills, including training, mentoring and coaching skills Understanding of market terminology and financial products and instruments Experience in share registries process (NZ, Australia and International) Ability to understand and apply industry regulations and legislative requirements Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the business A high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to demonstrate flexibility and embrace change About the Company Craigs Investment Partners (Craigs) is a multi-award-winning investment advisory firm which is one of the largest in New Zealand.
