While we work in different groups and on different things, we all strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for our akonga in our education system.About this role | Mo tenei turangaWe have a Permanent, Full-Time Curriculum Adviser role at our Maungawhau | Mt Eden Office.The Curriculum Adviser provides advice and support to early learning services, kura and schools in their region on the development of high-quality teaching and learning programmes.They work with teachers and kaiako across the pathway to support the design of engaging and responsive curriculum learning that embraces and reflects the diverse cultures, identities, languages of akonga, learners and their whanau, with a particular focus on serving those who have been underserved by the system.ResponsibilitiesProvide advice and support to early learning services, kura and schools on the development of high-quality teaching and learning programs, including assessment practices, to support the implementation of government curriculum priorities to improve learning outcomes for all students.Work with early learning services, kura and schools to identify and deliver high quality curriculum to meet the diverse educational needs of all students, with a specific focus on equitable achievement of student learning outcomes.Deliver professional learning, online and face-to-face, to support implementation of government curriculum priorities.Support early learning services, kura and schools to work alongside whanau, hapu and iwi to reflect the aspirations for their tamariki.Salary range: $99,496 - $120,690 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. A full, clean Driver's License is also required.The successful candidate will also offer the following:Experience working with Science of Learning and structured approaches to curriculum development and delivery at an expert level, or able to quickly (through training) achieve expertise.A broad understanding of the education pathway through early learning and schooling and the different curricula taught across the system.Robust knowledge, experience and understanding of education contexts at a practical level.Strong diplomacy, interpersonal and facilitation skills, with an ability to adapt to different interaction styles and contexts that prioritises the building of reciprocal and trusting relationships with colleagues and across the sector.Proven credibility within the education sector and confidence in implementing literacy & communication or maths teaching (early learning, primary or secondary) or te reo matatini or pangarau teaching (kaupapa Maori or Maori medium) is essential for this role.The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.About our group and team | Matau ropu akeOur team provides leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services.As a frontline group we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level through the Directors of Education, including deep relationships with iwi and hapu.
