We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Academy Manager to lead the Crusaders Rugby Academy across the Crusaders Rugby Region. Reporting to the General Manager Professional Rugby, the Academy will hold a key leadership position within the Crusaders Limited Partnership. This position requires a visionary leader to provide strategic and organizational direction for the Crusaders Academy. As the Academy Manager, you will oversee talent identification and player development throughout the Crusaders region. Collaborating closely and in partnership with Crusader, Canterbury and Tasman coaches, you will ensure effective succession planning by identifying future needs and recruiting players to the Academy, thereby securing a steady pipeline of talent for our elite teams. A critical aspect of this role is the development of players' life skills and education alongside their rugby training, working in partnership with the Player Development Manager to implement a comprehensive welfare program for Academy members. The successful applicant will have had proven experience operating in a high-performance team environment. Excellent communication, organisational and relationship management skills. A background in sport administration, a relevant sports management qualification and an understanding of the game of rugby and its demands at a professional level is highly advantageous.
