What you will be doing | Nga whainga matua
We are growing our activity in perennial crop modelling so that we can better support a range of customers in the horticultural sector with excellent, impactful science. To expand our existing team of busy and internationally connected crop modellers, we are seeking a Scientist with experience developing and applying perennial crop models. You will take a lead role in the delivery of modelling components for horticultural systems models being developed by Plant & Food Research. This will include contributing to the design and planning of modelling components and hands-on development and delivery.

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:
An understanding of a range of biophysical modelling approaches
Be prepared to adopt, develop and integrate ideas from different approaches to facilitate building and improving models
Skills in relevant methodologies such as science programming, code management, data analysis, and model optimisation
Excellent relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
